Around 6 or 7 years ago I had the idea to learn some basic animation but I got distracted by learning vector art, 3D and doing other various things over the years.
I think it is time to take the plunge and just do it. I’m not delusional, I will be sticking to very simple animation to begin with, basically making my Illustrations and digital paintings move a little bit using a program I’ve had for ages called Moho (formally Anime Studio).
I only have this program because I got a version of Toonboom for next to nothing in an offer bundled with other software years and years ago and then was offered the chance to upgrade to Anime Studio Pro 11 for a very reasonable price. In retrospect it was very lucky as Moho is now really expensive, especially for beginners to animation. They do have a cheaper version of the software but it does not let you import PSD files.
Perhaps I will share some more things about animation on the blog as I learn more, given that that is how the blog started. I am not sure whether to share my early animations though as they are pretty basic and embarrasing. The internet is a cruel place.
